the Katrina disaster

Yesterday I was so shocked at the devastation that was reported on the news from Katrina, especially in the New Orleans area where the storm surge has engulfed everything. They had to evacuate the dome where 10,000 people were staying , but where would they take them? The Coast Guard lifted more than 700 people off roof tops and people had to spend the night on an over pass. There just isn't any place for these people to go and I heard one reporter state, " this is our tsunami...".

I urge my family and friends to help the people devastated by this disaster that is in our backyard at http://www.redcross.org . Please pray for the people in Mississippi and Louisiana.

Thou, which has shewed me great and sore troubles ,shalt quicken me again , and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Psalm 71:20

Yesterday I took the kids to Lowry park zoo with my dad and Abuela.

I made my Abuela a "memory book"; a book with all our families photos in it and labels of who we are and a big calendar. The Alzheimer's Disease is taking away her memory of who we are and she is becoming increasingly agitated and confused.

Bill came home yesterday and told me he had a blow-out with his boss about his schedule ; they were angry with him because he wasn't available to work this weekend. He has to stay home with the kids' this Saturday because I have to work. Bill works 75 hours a week and they have the nerve to ask for more. It angers both of us and Bill is putting in his 2 week notice next week and I can't lie-it scares the both of us , but we feel it is necessary for him to leave so that we can have more time together as a family. Please pray for Bill.--Love, Anita
